Corn oil, or corn germ oil, is pressed from the germs of corn. It is widely used as cooking oil or in margarine in the food industry. It is also used as a raw material for the biodiesel industry. The corn plant originally comes from Mexico, but nowadays it grows in many different places around the world, such as France, Germany, and the United States.
Crude corn oil is produced during the pressing of corn germs.
This product is then chemically or physically refined.
A by-product of chemically refining crude corn oil.
